For the performance indicators, the work initiated in March 1998 by the School Directors first of all consisted of defining ratios that were common to all the members, particularly in the field of initial training, an open approach to international education, the social economic world, placements and professional integration.
Since then, a large annual survey entitled “Performance Indicators and Criteria” has been organised with the schools that are members of the network.
Each campaign included two parts: the first called “Performance Indicators” which makes it possible to gather qualitative data and to calculate ratios, and the second called “Performance Criteria”, comprising qualitative results.
The main objective was not to evaluate the performance in terms of management or productivity, but to help establishments improve their performance through the benchmarking of certain indicators that are particularly relevant to their activity and to then use these indicators to enhance the efficiency of the way they manage their specific establishment.
This action was part of the quality management process.
Ten surveys have been completed from 1998 to 2008.
It is important to note that each year, during AGERA’s annual press conference, a selection of performance indicators were presented to the regional and national press.
