AGERA and the Rhône-Alpes Region

The Rhône-Alpes region is recognized as one of France’s most dynamic regions in Higher Education and Research, with 9 universities, around 40 Grandes Ecoles, several hundred laboratories spread around the university poles in Lyon, Grenoble, Saint-Etienne and Chambéry.

In this landscape, AGERA collectively represents its 33 member establishments and works alongside the Rhône-Alpes Regional Authority on all the issues linked to Higher Education and Research. 

The Rhône-Alpes Region provides support to the AGERA so that, with the strenght of its large network of 33 Grandes Ecoles, the AGERA contributes to the development of higher education with the main objective being of democratise access to higher education :

• Accompany students from very different backgrounds;
• Structure and reinforce the type of training on offer;
• Contribute to enhancing the international content of higher education in the Rhône-Alpes region;
• Promote and contribute to sustainable development in the region.
