Mission statement
Since its founding in 1948, Sciences Po Grenoble mission has been to provide its students with the in both the public and private sectors. referred to as the "Sciences PO" network - Sciences Po Grenoble designs its curriculum under the supervision of the National Foundation of Political Sciences and the French Ministry of Education. As a "Grande Ecole", Sciences Po Grenoble selects its students by competitive exam. Sciences Po Grenoble is administratively affiliated with the Université de Grenoble II - Pierre Mendès-France (UPMF).

Courses opened to international students
Most of your classes will take place in Sciences Po Grenoble’s own building on the campus.
Our lecture halls and classrooms are equipped with multimedia technology, and broadband WI-FI service is available throughout the Institute. In addition, we have eight computer rooms, two audiovisual/language labs, and a press/editorial center. Many professors make extensive use of digital resources in their classes and maitain websites where they post support materials, lectures and podcasts. Sciences Po Grenoble library is the leadinf ressource center in the social and political sciences outside of Paris with over 100.000 volumes and 1.100 periodicals.
Exchange and non-exchange candidates for one semester or one year.
Sciences Po Grenoble has adopted the European Credit Transfert System (ECTS) set out by the Bologna process. You must compete 30 ECTS to validate one semester and 60 ECTS to validate one year of study. You select your classes in the undergraduate curriculum (first cycle). Both exchange and non-exchange students may take the following types of classes : cours fondamentaux; cours specialises, conférence de méthode. Access to the following types of classes is subject to prior approval : ateliers, séminaires.
If you wish to take master’s level classes, you must request permission to do so prior to your arrival in Grenoble. Generally, you must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the field in which you wish to study.
Various study options are available for international students 1. If you are enrolled gor either a semester or a year, you may choose your own course of study. You must complete at least two thirds of your credits at Sciences Po Grenoble .
If you are enrolled for two consecutive semesters (autumn, spring), you may complete the Certificate of Political Studies (Certificat d’Etudes Politiques/CEP), a course of study which is reserved to international exchange students.
The CEP consists of required classes and electives and students must successfully complete 60 ECTS over the course of the year.
Required classes :
Langue française et méthodologie de l’écrit et de l’oral : 72 hours /12 ECTS
La France et l’Europe face aux défis du monde contemporain : 36 hours / 8 ECTS
Electives :
- Cours fondamentaux (chosen from first, second or third year) : 36 hours / 6 ECTS
- Conférences de méthode (chosen from first, second or third year) : 36 hours / 6 ECTS
- Cours specialisés : 24 hours / 4 ECTS
If you are enrolled for one semester, you may complete the Short Certificate in Political Studies (Attestation d’Etudes Politiques / AEP), a course of study which is reserved to international exchange students.
The AEP consists of required classes and electives and students must successfully complete 30 ECTS over the course of the semester.
