Courses open to international students

Most international students at ESDES join the mainly English-taught International Business Program (IBP) for one or two semesters at bachelor's and master's levels. Some optional modules of the IBP are taught in French. Crédits obtained are transferred to the home university at the end of the period of study at ESDES.

Students with an excellent command of French and appropriate previous learning can study entirely in French for one or two semesters of the main bachelor's program or for the spring semester of the master's program. Credits obtained are transferred to the home university at the end of the period of study at ESDES.

Students from partner institutions who have signed a double degree agreement with ESDES can study for one year in English on the Master's in International Business. As set out in the agreement, they are awarded the diplomas of both institutions on successful completion of their year at ESDES and of a second year of master's studies at their own institution.

Admission to the school by examination and interview is possible in the 1st, 3rd and 4th years. Master's programs are offered in French in Audit & Control, Business Development & Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resources and Marketing & Sales. A master's program taught mainly in English (entirely in English in the 1st year) is offerd in International Business.

The autumn semester runs from September to December for IBP and the 2nd year of the main program but from September to January for the other levels. There is no teaching at ESDES in the main program in the spring semester of the 2nd year, the autumn semester of the 4th year and the spring semester of the 5th year.

Established in 1984 by Grenoble’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Grenoble Ecole de Management is a higher education institution in Management. It delivers 40 national and international programs from the undergraduate to the Doctoral level. Accredited EQUIS, AACSB and a member of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles, Grenoble Ecole de Management is one of only a few business schools worldwide to hold the triple accreditation crown.

The school and its programs are regulary ranked in major French and international publications. It is ranked in the top 20 best European Business Schools according to the Financial Times and 7th in France according to leading French rankings.

Courses offered to international students

ESC Chambéry offers international students one semester or year-long Business Studies programmes either in French, in English or in both languages. Classes offered at both Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s levels.

ESC Chambéry has also developed several French as a Foreign Language programmes of various lenghts (from four weeks to one academic year), certain including internship options.
All our intenational students can present a Study and Research Dissertation (Winter semester, first year of Master’s Degree), take part in company consulting assignments (Winter semester, Master II level) or carry out work placements (Spring semester, Master I or II level).

Mission statement

We believe in the potential of each of our students, developing and enriching it, while requiring rigor, a sense of action and responsibility and openness to the contemporary world. The cornerstone of IDRAC for the 20 past years has been a specific teaching perspective based on a unique educational project. Beyond basic knowledge and know how, this project develops life skills, attitude, behaviour and a sense of ethics.
